About their trajectory
Fiorella Ricagno holds a degree in International Relations from the National University of San Martín (UNSAM, Argentina) and is pursuing a master’s degree in Political Ecology and Alternatives to Development at the Simón Bolívar Andean University (UASB), Ecuador campus. She has worked on analyzing the international investor-state arbitration system, its impacts in Latin America, and, particularly, its effects on human and environmental rights, in collaboration with the Transnational Institute (TNI). She is also a member of the CLACSO Working Group “Lex Mercatoria, Corporate Power, and Human Rights.” Currently, in her master’s research, she is analyzing the socio-environmental, legal, and political implications of the Incentive Regime for Large Investments (RIGI) and the resistance it has generated in the provinces of Neuquén and Río Negro, Argentina. She is also part of the RIGI Observatory, assisting in the monitoring of projects entering the regime and the conflicts arising in the regions.
