Anyi Viviana Castelblanco Montañez

Anyi Viviana Castelblanco Montañez holds a bachelor’s degree in elementary education with a focus on social sciences; she is an anthropologist and holds a master’s degree in political ecology and alternatives to development. She is a member of the Cambium Association, a water rights activist, and an urban farmer. She has conducted research on conflicts over water access and distribution, mining extractivism in Colombia, and corporate capture. She has also worked alongside rural and indigenous communities on issues such as territorial control, community-based environmental monitoring, the defense of rural ways of life, agroecology, women’s rights, and environmental democratization. She has served as a researcher and educator at various public and private institutions, with a focus on popular environmental education and work with vulnerable populations.
