Ayar Arawi Guanotuña Chusin

Agronomist and student of the Master's program in Political Ecology.

About their trajectory

Ayar Arawi Guanotuña Chusin walks alongside the indigenous and peasant communities of Chugchilán and Sigchos, in the Ecuadorian Andes, accompanying processes of territorial organization, agroecology and community strengthening. A Kichwa agronomist with a master's degree in Political Ecology and Alternatives to Development from the Universidad Andina Simón Bolívar, he intertwines critical reflection with daily work in the territories.

His experience includes community agricultural production, food sovereignty, rural project management and technical accompaniment to peasant and indigenous communities in Cotopaxi. He has worked in organizational strengthening initiatives, agroecological fairs, local marketing processes and community agriculture programs promoted together with social organizations and local governments.

He has been a youth leader of the Indigenous and Peasant Movement of Cotopaxi (MICC), community communicator and Kichwa-Spanish translator in processes of indigenous justice and collaborative research with Andean communities. His path also integrates popular communication, political training and audiovisual creation on climate change and territorial defense.

He believes in the strength of collective organization, in community knowledge and in the construction of political horizons born from below, where the defense of life, territory and autonomy of the peoples are the center.
