Óscar Miguel Luna Alvarado

I am a socio-environmental researcher with experience in applied research and in the implementation of conservation and sustainability projects, articulating academic work with direct intervention in the territory. I have led and accompanied participatory processes with communities, producers and institutional actors, oriented to the sustainable use of natural resources and biodiversity conservation. I am motivated by working with people in culturally and socioecologically diverse contexts, understanding the complex society-nature relationships and promoting innovative changes based on the integration of scientific evidence and local knowledge.

I am a sociologist with a PhD in Territorial Development from FLACSO Ecuador and currently work at World Wildlife Fund (WWF).
